Krishna Das
I love Krishna Das and listen to him all the time. I have seen him in person and been on more than one long weekend retreat with him. He chants, tells stories of his life and does questions and answers. It's a wonderful time, I got my picture with him, he signed my meditation pillow. Actually the whole band did. Now everytime I meditate it brings me back to the good feelings I had at the retreat. One meets a lot of nice people at the retreats too. Even thou I go solo I end up with a number of friends after it. KD was almost the lead singer for Blue Oyster Cult, but decided to go to India with Ram Dass in '71 to find himself. Luckily for all of us he did.

Nina Rao
Nina Rao is wonderful, she has her own solo career and manages Krishna Das. She is also at the KD retreats. I got my picture with her too and she has also signed my meditation pillow. They probably think I'm a nut but that's okay. As a young girl she learned to chant from her grandfather while living in India and when she came to the US forgot all about it until meeting up with Krishna Das. On the retreats she gets other kiran folks together and we repeat the Hanuman Chalisa 11 times. It's very magical, one has to be there to really get it.

wah!
Early on wah! was the base player for Krishna Das but then she broke out on her own. I might have seen her playing base with KD down in DC early on but I don't remember if the woman playing base was her. I got to see her for sure at Yogafest. It was a blast. It was way to crowed so no pics. :(
Dave Stringer
I saw Dave Stringer over 25 years ago at a yoga studio in Baltimore. That was back when a lot of these guys toured around hitting Studios doing kirtans and playing during classes. Then they would sell cds afterwards and you could hang out and talk to them. It was great. It was before cell phones, so no pics with Dave either, but what a nice guy.

Anoushka Shankar
I saw Ravi Shankar and his daughter Anoushka Shankar downtown a couple times. I got to meet Anoushka after the concert, she was very nice and signed all three of the CDs I bought.
Anoushka put this first link together for her Dad for what would have been his 100th birthday. It was during COVID and it's very clever.
